Shawni Flint

Through a performance evaluation, weekly group lessons and daily programs, our sport development will expand an athlete’s ability to perform at a higher level. The goal is to increase core strength, plyometric explosiveness, quickness and speed.

Power Line is excited to have Shawni Flint lead our sport performance training program!

Shawni’s Sport Performance Training Program is designed to provide Power Line clients the most effective training techniques. She is dedicated to developing the complete athlete, not only as a trainer, but as a mentor and positive role-model.

Accelerated Performance Program

  •  Aerobic Training – will be a focus during the early stages of each athlete’s off-season to help establish a base fitness level.
  • Speed Training – speed and interval training to help develop speed, strength and power.
  • Plyometrics Training – training that will enhance fast, powerful movements.
  • Agility Training – training to enhance their ability to change direction and accelerate again and apply their speed to sport-specific scenarios.
  • Strength Training – training that will use resistance exercises and body weight to help increase speed and agility.
  • Core Training – training that will help stabilize the trunk to enhance the transfer of power from the lower to the upper body.

Team, League, and Program Consultation
Team development practices focus on teaching technique while mentoring and advising coaches. Coaches and player clinics assist in the development and expansion of league success.

Background

Shawni Flint, born and raised in San Diego, graduated from El Capitan High School in 1998. During her exceptional high school career, she was honored two-times as the Grossmont League North “Player of the Year” and numerous times as San Diego Union Tribune “Player of the Week”. Shawni received All-League and All-CIF honors all four years and was a two-time El Capitan Most Valuable Player. Through the San Diego Soccer club and the guidance of Raffi Ruotolo Shawni earned the opportunity to compete at the Division 1 level in college.

After a one year stint as the full-scholarship starting sweeper at the University of San Francisco, Shawni returned home to continue her college career at San Diego State University. Shawni captained the squad each of the three years and earned the “All-Around Coach’s Award”. She was honored with “Player of the Week” by Soccer Buzz Magazine in 2002. Shawni graduated in 2003 with a degree in Communications with an emphasis on Media Management and a minor in Theater.

While wrapping up her education at San Diego State, Shawni served as an Academic Mentor within the Athletic Department. Upon graduation, Shawni decided to combine her skills in soccer, communications, and education to follow her passion for athlete development. On the soccer side, she has directed camps through the North County Soccer Park and coached for the Elite Soccer School. She was the head coach for San Diego Soccer Club and honored as “Coach of the Year” in 2004 and 2005. She has assisted Rancho Bernardo High School varsity girls’ soccer program and is involved in the Olympic Development Program. On the development side, she has been a very successful Speed and Agility Coach for Speed to Burn for the past five years. She has trained girl and boy athletes competing at an elite level in soccer, football, lacrosse, and softball.

“Shawni is one of the most talented coached in San Diego. Coaching is what she does.” She knows what it takes to succeed as a student- athlete and has made it her goal to offer Sports Performance training to those who are interested in competing at the highest level.
