Softball Skill Development

Power Line has become the go-to place for softball skill development in San Diego.  The most up-to-date offensive and defensive techniques used in college softball today are presented in private lessons, semi-private small group lessons, and team development practices. Each of our coaches brings college softball playing and coaching experience into teaching hitting, slapping, pitching, catching, outfield, and infield.  This direct connection to the game and the ability to thoroughly understand the process of specific technique work provides the softball athlete the opportunity to excel at the highest level.

Private lessons are one-on-one.  Semi-private lessons consist of two or three softball athletes who are pushed to work hard together to achieve as a group. The lesson rotation provides a natural rest phase so the softball athletes are able to give full focus and effort to each approach. The fee for the semi-private small group lesson is a reduced rate, allowing more families to use Power Line Consulting as a resource.  Most lessons are one-hour in length. The initial lesson is an evaluation lesson so Power Line coaches can assess and recommend an appropriate path. Consistent pitching clients usually book 1/2 hour lessons there after, while hitting, slapping, defense, and catching clients usually continue with the 1 hour lessons.

Improving the mental approach within the physical skill practice, promoting positive thinking, and confidence building are aims of Power Line Consulting.

Team, League, and Program Consultation

Team player development practices focus on teaching skill technique, the mental aspect, and teamwork, while mentoring and advising coaches. Coaches and player clinics assist in the development and expansion of league success. Practices in Power Line focus on hitting, while practices at your fields can consist of hitting or defense, or a combination of the two.

Sponsorship opportunities bring the best of Power Line together for your program.  Through regularly scheduled discounted practice sessions, coaches’ clinics, and kids hitting, pitching, defensive, or catching clinics with Power Line coaches, programs and coaches excel beyond the standard.

Facility Rental

The Power Line facility provides an empowering environment for sports development.

  • Rent a single cage for pitching or hitting,
  • the warehouse for team batting practice,
  • the warehouse and training room for a completely dynamic team batting practice, or
  • the entire facility for a birthday party, fitness class, lecture, company party, or other event.
