Megan Denio joins Power Line’s coaching staff as a lefty slapping/offensive specialist, hitting and defensive coach.
Megan graduated from Long Beach State in December, 2012, after playing four years for Coach Kim Sowder. In February 2011, Megan was honored as Big West Player of the Week after batting .467 and hitting a walk-off grand slam against Arkansas on a weekend tournament in Las Vegas. She also tied the Long Beach State single game record with 6 RBi’s and held that record for three years. She is 7th in the Long Beach State record books for walks in a single season with 27. During her junior and senior years, Megan batted .284 and was a key component both offensively and defensively for the 49ers leading them to the Big West Championship in 2012. The 49ers made the NCAA Regionals in three of Megan’s four years at the Long Beach.
Megan played her travel ball career with So Cal Explosion, for Head Coach Joe Weddle, where she led them to a 4th place finish at the 2008 ASA Gold Championship. Megan also played summer ball for the Hurricanes Women’s Major team in 2009 where she helped lead their team to the 23U ASA National Championship. Megan batted .615 and was named to the 23U All American 1st Team with fellow teammates Megan Langenfield, Bianca Mejia, Mel Roth and two others.
Megan and Power Line share the same philosophy, which makes for strong addition to all we have to offer. Megan will bring positive energy to our coaching staff as well. We are super excited and we know you will be too!
